Philanthropic Ventures Foundation
Geballe Excursion Grants offers grants of up to $1,000 for fund classroom excursions; funds can cover the cost of transportation, admission fees and food. Invited public schools in Alameda and San Mateo Counties are eligible.  Deadline: Funding for this program will be available for the 2011-2012 school year starting September 6th, 2011.

Whole Kids Foundation
School Garden Grants offers grants up to $2,000. Eligable applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or nonprofit K-12 schools that are developing or currently maintaining a school garden project that will help children engage with fresh fruits and vegetables. Garden projects may be at any stage of development; planning, construction or operation.In selecting grant recipients, priority will be given to both limited-resource communities and to projects that demonstrate strong buy-in from stakeholders. Deadline: 5pm CST December 31, 2011.

All Stars Helping Kids
Helping Hand Fund provides grants for programs that serve disadvantaged kids of the Bay Area through a monthly grant process. Deadline: Applications accepted on the 15th of every month.

Captain Planet Foundation
Captain Planet Foundation offers grants for organic gardens for a maximum of $500, generally, and are restricted to specific budgetary items. Deadlines: March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31.
